Building Strategic Plans
Here’s where we are. There’s where we want to go. How do we get there?
Strategic planning is a process of
- evaluating where you are,
- identifying any resources available,
- developing a vision of where you want to go, and
- planning for difficulties and challenges along the way.
In short, strategic planning gives you a road-map for “how to get there?” and makes successful business, leadership, and community transitions possible. That road-map can be simple or complex depending on the long-range vision and objective.
Strategic planning can help re-focus or revitalize community groups, can help rejuvenate downtowns, or can help implement “lean government” principles in local governments. Contact the University of Wisconsin Extension in Grant County to discuss strategic planning techniques and resources.
